Jesus Christ is God Almighty

Jesus Christ was and is God Almighty in the flesh. He shares the same qualities as His Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Both the Son and the Father and one and are both eternally glorified as the “Almighty.” Those that claim Christ is lower than God Almighty or that He is not God don’t really see that both are the same person. The significance of Jesus Christ being God Almighty is that He ought to be worshipped as such. Christ completes the entire Bible from creation to revelation because He is both man and God who has worked His salvation throughout human history and desires to save you as well.

God is eternal; meaning He always existed and had no beginning or end. Likewise, God’s Son Jesus Christ shared the same eternal nature and qualities as God the Father did (Revelation 1:8, 22:13. Christ was never created because He is the Creator (Colossians 1:16, 17). Christ shared the same glory with His father (John 17:5). The divine Agent was the Word of God (John 1:1), who spoke all things visible and invisible into existence by the word of His might. "For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast." (Psalm 33:9) Christ is the eternal Word that existed before creation itself and governs all of creation. (Colossians 1:16)

The Bible clearly states that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is above all, created all things, and is the Almighty One that was, is, and will always be, the Lord of Lords that never slumbers nor sleeps!

1. Jesus Christ is sinless

Jesus Christ was the Passover Lamb for all mankind. The lamb had to be without blemish in order to be an acceptable offering to God.

"Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth”…

…“Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." 1 Peter 2:22-25

In order for Christ to take away our sins, He must have had no sin in Himself.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:21

“Human birth itself is a miracle beyond human comprehension, and so we do not hesitate to accept the great miracle of the divine birth of Jesus, the Son of God. God sent “his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh” (Romans 8:3) but He “did no sin…” The whole life of Christ, His nature, His word, and His deeds became Him as the Son of God. His virgin birth and true incarnation were the great introduction and explanation of the supernatural life that followed. We stand amazed at the beauty and logical unfolding of this divine revelation” (The Life of Christ, Briggs)

2. Jesus Christ is eternal

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”" Revelation 1:8 (ESV)

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”" Revelation 22:13 (ESV)

Christ is the “I AM,” and so His life has no beginning or end. Even in the light of his fleshly birth to a woman, we see the awesome miracle of Christ who was never born, being born to man in order to save men from their sins. In order to go to God the Father, you must come to Him in the name of Christ (John 14:2-6)

John the Baptist recognized that Christ was the everlasting God. And Christ Himself witnessed to that.

“John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he (Christ) was before me.’ ” John 1:15, emphasis mine ESV

“So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple." John 8:57-59 ESV

When God appeared to Moses as a burning bush (Exodus 3:2-6), God used the name “I AM.” (Exodus 3:14) Christ used the same name to refer to Himself in the New Testament.

3. Jesus Christ forgives sin

Forgiveness of sins is something all of humanity desperately needs. Only God has the authority to forgive sin. Jesus Christ freely used His authority to forgive people’s sins thereby proving to men that He and the Father are the same. In fact, Christ came to reveal the Father and represent Him. If you go to Christ, you go to the Father. You must come to Christ alone for forgiveness of sins and God will forgive you of your sins. No man has the sufficient authority or power over sin, expect God Himself.

4. Jesus Christ is One with God

God is referred to as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three persons are the same God yet different manifestations. Since Christ was always united with the Father, He Himself is God.

"No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known." John 1:18

Christ is God made visible. Just because God appeared to man as a man doesn’t nullify His diety.

Why Did Jesus Have To Suffer?

Isaiah wrote, in chapter 53, verse 6 says: "All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him." (NASB)

Isaiah 53 dynamically depicts the sufferings and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The chapter starts out with these words: "Who has believed our message?
" No one recognized Jesus, or understood His message. He was beaten with whips, hands, words, and sticks by His own chosen nation. Still, He joyfully chose to be suffer so that we could be forgiven through His atonement of our sins.

One could easily say that this chapter is the most sor\\rowful of what Isaiah wrote. The words contained here remarkably pity our Lord. "He was despised and forsaken of men", "A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief."(v. 3 NASB) "He was oppressed and He was afflicted" (v. 7) "By oppression and judgment He was taken away" (v. 8-).

Take note, that while Jesus' cup was filled with these things, it pleased God that He went through the agonizing journey. Verse 10 says: "But the LORD was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief." Even though "He had done no violence, nor was there any deceit in His mouth." (v. 9) (Note: verse 9 points out Christ's perfect obedience and sinless nature therefore being a spotless sacrifice)

Why all the pain? Why did Jesus walk the walk of a stranger on Earth? Like no other man in history, he deliberately put upon himself these burdens. We know that is was all for a very special purpose. Even when we ourselves despised Him, He "Himself bore (our griefs), And our sorrows He carried." (v.4 emphasis mine) Verse 5 reads "But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed." Isaiah 53 makes sense now; Jesus bore our pains on a daily basis and finally paid the ultimate price for our sins on the cross.
By the very cuts and wounds that He experienced, we now experience literal healing and salvation through His blood.

Our dearly beloved Jesus faithfully endured the tough mission "Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth." (v. 7) What peace and fulfillment He had!

I am sorry that my sinning put Jesus through so much paint, yet glad that "with His stripes we are healed." (v.5 KJV) The mission was all for this: "that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Cor. 5:21)
